About HAWT HEADS

Hawt Heads exists because the world needs more spice.
Not just hotter food. Better spicy food.
We want local hot sauces in restaurants. We want more people growing peppers, making sauces, creating ridiculous challenges, holding competitions, and actually experimenting with heat instead of treating spicy food like a novelty.
There is nothing wrong with the big hot sauce brands. We just want more options.
If somebody in your town is making an incredible habanero sauce, restaurants nearby should know about it. If a restaurant has a legitimately brutal wing challenge, people should be able to find it. If somebody has never gone beyond jalapeños, there should be a place for them too.
That is what Hawt Heads is trying to build.
We review spicy food and hot sauces. We travel to restaurants. We attempt challenges. We compete. We cover festivals and events. We meet sauce makers and pepper growers. We also spend an unreasonable amount of time looking for the next stupidly hot thing somebody created.
But Hawt Heads is not supposed to become the spicy food scene.
We want to help grow the spicy food scene.
More sauce makers. More spicy restaurants. More challenges. More competitions. More creators. More people discovering that they actually like heat.
And heat should make food better.
Anybody can dump enough capsaicin into something to make it hurt. That does not automatically make it good. The best spicy food has flavor first, with heat that adds something to it.
Of course, sometimes we are intentionally eating something completely insane where survival feels like the primary flavor.
That has its place too.
The other thing we care about is making the table bigger.
You do not have to eat Carolina Reapers to be a Hawt Head. Maybe your limit is jalapeño. Maybe it is habanero. Maybe you are the lunatic asking whether the restaurant has anything hotter than the thing marked extreme.
Find your heat level.
Then, if you want, push it.
We want to taste the spicy side of everywhere we go and introduce more people to the people, restaurants, peppers, sauces, challenges, and culture behind it.
More flavor. More heat. More people.
Spice is Life.
